STARS HONORED AS PART OF AWARD-WINNING TEAM BEHIND 2024 MEMORIAL CUP SUCCESS

STARS is proud to announce its recognition as part of the collaborative team awarded the prestigious 2025 Governor’s Award for Innovative Tourism Collaboration in the Non-Traditional Category. This honor celebrates the impactful partnerships that contributed to the success of the 2024 Memorial Cup, hosted in the Great Lakes Bay Region.

Presented by the Michigan Governor’s Conference on Tourism, this award highlights innovative efforts that bring together diverse sectors to create exceptional visitor experiences. The Go Great Lakes Bay Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau led the charge, with STARS serving as a vital partner in delivering smooth, efficient transportation that elevated the experience for attendees, athletes, and organizers alike. In total, the event brought in around $37M in economic activity.

Throughout the tournament, STARS ensured that guests could move easily between hotels, venues, and local attractions, helping to create a seamless and welcoming experience for all visitors. During the 10 day period, STARS provided nearly 28,000 rides and drove over 30,000 miles, representing a 128% increase in passengers over other 10-day periods.

STARS celebrates this achievement alongside all partners and looks forward to continuing to support regional growth, innovation, and community success through accessible public transportation.
