STARS AND DELTA COLLEGE ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP TO PROVIDE FREE TRANSIT FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF
The Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services (STARS) and Delta College are proud to announce a new partnership that will expand access to higher education by providing free rides on all STARS fixed routes to Delta students and staff.
Beginning October 1, 2025, anyone holding a valid Delta College student or staff ID may ride the STARS fixed-route bus system at no cost simply by showing their ID when boarding.
STARS already connects Delta College in two ways:
- Delta Downtown Saginaw Center – accessible via routes to Downtown Plaza.
- Delta Direct Shuttle – four round-trip rides Monday through Thursday to the Delta College main campus during the fall and winter semesters.
This new partnership strengthens those connections by ensuring system-wide access across STARS’ fixed routes, eliminating transportation barriers for Delta students and employees.
“Reliable, affordable transportation is key to educational opportunity,” said Amy Bidwell, Executive Director of STARS. “We are proud to be partnering with Delta College to make it easier for students and staff to get to class, to work, and to the resources they need across Saginaw.”
Delta College leadership echoed the importance of the collaboration:
“This partnership with STARS expands opportunities for our students and employees while supporting the community,” said Shelly Raube, Vice President of Student Empowerment and Success. “Removing the cost of transportation makes it that much easier for students to focus on learning and achieving their goals.”
