Effective July 29, STARS will allow youths 16 and under to ride free on bus routes under the following guidelines:

For youth 48 inches tall or under, city route bus rides are free. Buses have height marking for reference.
For youth over 48 inches tall & 16 years of age or younger, show a STARS Youth Pass to the driver and fare to be waived. To get a STARS Youth Pass:
1. Show proof of birthdate (ex: birth certificate) at Customer Service window M-F 8AM-5PM.
2. Customer Service issues a Youth Pass which expires at the end of the month of their 17th birthday.
3. Youth pass must be displayed to driver for fare to be waived.
“We are so excited about taking this step to ensure youth in Saginaw have better access to education, jobs, after-school activities and beneficial programs,” expressed Glenn Steffens, STARS Executive Director. “We want to make sure that a parent never has to consider leaving their kids at home when they go grocery shopping because they can’t afford extra fares.”
