STARS BOARD SELECTS POTTER STREET STATION AS NEW HEADQUARTERS

After a year-long feasibility study, the STARS Board of Directors today formally selected Potter Street Station for redevelopment as the chosen expansion site for the agency.
The feasibility study was completed in collaboration by Spicer Group, HDR and Spence Brothers. The study included an agency needs assessment, identification of potential sites, civil and environmental justice studies, stakeholder interviews, and community surveys.

“All the information that was gathered from the community during the study indicated that Potter Street Station is the most appropriate location for expansion,” said Glenn Steffens, STARS Executive Director. ”We see the Potter Street site as a much larger project that would spur economic development in the Northeast Neighborhood and open up funding sources that other sites can’t.”

Next steps will include an investigation to determine potential funding opportunities and continued community outreach to broaden support.
